Carey High School Music Department receives a grant from The Joseph Wolph Foundation.
Carey High School received a grant from The Joseph Wolph Foundation to purchase an electric
piano for students to practice on at home. Carey High School offers a one semester piano class
for students 9-12 and a Jr. High piano class for 7 th grade students. In Piano, the students learn
where the keys are, where to place their hands, and how music is written on the staff. Many of
our students continue to play both through conventional music reading and unconventional
piano videos. These students work every day for 43 minutes on their piano skills. Some of
these students also memorize music after hearing it and will then play it from memory or play
by ear. At Carey we have seen students with unique learning needs able to help regulate their
emotions through playing the piano.
“The Joseph Wolph Foundation is the fulfillment off Mr. Wolph’s desire to teach others the joy
of musical performance. The Foundation works to place instruments in the hands of aspiring
musicians, not just for fun, but for life.” https://www.jwolphfoundation.org/. If you are
interested in more information on The Joseph Wolph Foundation or would like to make a
donation please go to their webpage and click donate.

The seniors had their Graduation practice today. It's getting real!! #chs #sundayisgraduation

8th grade class trip was a success! 😴

We celebrated the seniors today by eating breakfast, playing games, and holding the annual senior parade around the school. We are so proud of our 2026 graduates!

Each year, Senior Art students create a mural representing their graduating class. That mural is displayed at graduation and then hung in the cafeteria for permanent display. This year, Elly Zimmerly and Abby Kurtz worked to create the Class of 2026's mural. Fantastic job ladies!!!

These are the seniors that I see in the office every day. They don't know it, but they say things that make me smile, have comments that I once thought, and they make my job so enjoyable!!! I will miss them. I didn't catch a pic of a few more of them -they know who they are! 💙

Our MS Choirs and Bands performed to a packed house this evening. The growth you hear in these students is amazing. Mrs. Lortz and Mr. Miller do excellent work with our young musicians. Great concert!!

Today, we honored our Senior All Academic/Service Honorees at the Wyandot County Honors Breakfast with our friends from Mohawk and Upper Sandusky High Schools. Ohio Teacher of the Year, Chris Mansour, was our guest speaker.

Mrs. Speer's mentoring class enjoyed an extra recess with Mrs. Wentling's kindergarten class today! It's been a great year together!

Attention Community: Carey PD and the Wyandot County Sheriff's deputies and SRT team will be training at the school this afternoon from 4p-6p. Please do not be alarmed if you see many law enforcement or other emergency vehicles in our lots.
Carey Schools Update - The fire department was called just to be safe due a strong smell coming from the auditorium. It has been determined that the issue was caused by faulty stage lights and the fire department has given the all clear for students to return to the building.
The Concert Choir is doing a fantastic job this evening.

Tonight's choral concert began with the special Homeroom Choir. Great job to everyone!
