First, we would like to thank all those who have told us how excited they are to see the long needed improvements at the football complex. These improvements are the result of many conversations and studies with various groups and committees. The Board of Education's commitment to providing a quality and safe surface for our athletes is just one way of always putting students first. They have invested not only in the football playing surface, but also in updating our varsity gymnasium (see photo attached), creating a new classroom space for our elementary students, updating our bus fleet for safe transportation, including adding a new bus and route for our students with special needs. The Board also invests in the staff, providing professional development and teacher training opportunities to encourage our staff to remain at the lead in the latest educational trends. The Carey school community can be proud of the investments made to ensure our students and community are served in the best manner possible.
In a recent online post, the comment was made that there is a lot about the football field turf project that the community doesn't know. Please know that all the information about the project is available to anyone who would like to see it. We have shared any and all information with the various groups we have met with, the many sponsors of the project, with the media and at Board of Education meetings. All costs, expected savings, and the reasons for the project have all been laid out and discussed with many people. There is nothing to hide at all. If you would like to know anything about the project, please feel free to contact the school and ask for the information. We would be happy to discuss the project with you.
We are also offering the opportunity for anyone who would like to donate to the project. While we know we will be saving approximately $35,000 per year on costs to maintain a grass field, we are also looking for individuals or businesses to help sponsor the stadium project. We plan on having a monument of some sort located toward the north end of the field to commemorate those who are interested in donating toward the project. The Blue Devil Touchdown Drive information is attached to this post.

Carey High School Music Department receives a grant from The Joseph Wolph Foundation.
Carey High School received a grant from The Joseph Wolph Foundation to purchase an electric
piano for students to practice on at home. Carey High School offers a one semester piano class
for students 9-12 and a Jr. High piano class for 7 th grade students. In Piano, the students learn
where the keys are, where to place their hands, and how music is written on the staff. Many of
our students continue to play both through conventional music reading and unconventional
piano videos. These students work every day for 43 minutes on their piano skills. Some of
these students also memorize music after hearing it and will then play it from memory or play
by ear. At Carey we have seen students with unique learning needs able to help regulate their
emotions through playing the piano.
“The Joseph Wolph Foundation is the fulfillment off Mr. Wolph’s desire to teach others the joy
of musical performance. The Foundation works to place instruments in the hands of aspiring
musicians, not just for fun, but for life.” https://www.jwolphfoundation.org/. If you are

The seniors had their Graduation practice today. It's getting real!! #chs #sundayisgraduation

8th grade class trip was a success! 😴

We celebrated the seniors today by eating breakfast, playing games, and holding the annual senior parade around the school. We are so proud of our 2026 graduates!

Each year, Senior Art students create a mural representing their graduating class. That mural is displayed at graduation and then hung in the cafeteria for permanent display. This year, Elly Zimmerly and Abby Kurtz worked to create the Class of 2026's mural. Fantastic job ladies!!!

These are the seniors that I see in the office every day. They don't know it, but they say things that make me smile, have comments that I once thought, and they make my job so enjoyable!!! I will miss them. I didn't catch a pic of a few more of them -they know who they are! 💙

Our MS Choirs and Bands performed to a packed house this evening. The growth you hear in these students is amazing. Mrs. Lortz and Mr. Miller do excellent work with our young musicians. Great concert!!

Today, we honored our Senior All Academic/Service Honorees at the Wyandot County Honors Breakfast with our friends from Mohawk and Upper Sandusky High Schools. Ohio Teacher of the Year, Chris Mansour, was our guest speaker.

Mrs. Speer's mentoring class enjoyed an extra recess with Mrs. Wentling's kindergarten class today! It's been a great year together!

Attention Community: Carey PD and the Wyandot County Sheriff's deputies and SRT team will be training at the school this afternoon from 4p-6p. Please do not be alarmed if you see many law enforcement or other emergency vehicles in our lots.
Carey Schools Update - The fire department was called just to be safe due a strong smell coming from the auditorium. It has been determined that the issue was caused by faulty stage lights and the fire department has given the all clear for students to return to the building.
The Concert Choir is doing a fantastic job this evening.

Tonight's choral concert began with the special Homeroom Choir. Great job to everyone!

MS students having fun at the Mud Hens game today! #chs #chsmiddleschool #mudhens
